FUAH Works

What does FUAH do?  We provide emotional support for victims and their families; help them understand and deal with the legal system, media, and requests from organizations; and connect them to resources. We also support, guide and assist people, organizations and agencies who work with victims and their families.

Some of the people FUAH has supported and worked with:

• the mother of a murdered gay son

• a lesbian couple who were being harassed and shot at by a neighbor relative

• an interracial couple who were being harassed and threatened

• four lesbian college students who were assaulted

• the mother of a gay youth who was chased and whose vehicle was beaten while he was inside it

• the mother of a gay youth who was getting hate mail

• the mother of a gay youth being who was being harassed

• the mother of a gay son who committed suicide

• the mother, family, friends and community of a murdered two-spirited youth

• a transgendered young woman and her mom after an assault and during ongoing harassment

• a community after a gay college student was assaulted

• the sister of a murdered gay man

• a community after the murder of transgendered woman

• a gay Arab man after an assault

• the mother and brother of a gay youth who committed suicide

• a gay couple who were harassed

• a community after a lesbian was murdered

• the friend of a gay youth who was assaulted

• a community after the murder of a transgendered woman

• a father who witnessed a youth who was perceived to be gay being beaten at his daughter's school

• the mother of a lesbian youth who was dealing with ongoing school harassment

• the mother of murdered transgendered woman

• the mother of a gay youth who was assaulted 

• a gay youth who was repeatedly beaten and harassed at school and by his family

• a gay man who was assaulted

• the mother of a lesbian youth who was assaulted and harassed 

• a gay man who was assaulted and tortured

• a lesbian who was assaulted and harassed by a neighbor

• a mother whose lesbian daughter committed suicide

• We supported the GLBT community when the school board of the Grossmont Union School District in San Diego, CA insisted that the segment on homophobia be cut in a showing of the video "Teen Files - The Truth About Hate" for a tolerance program for their students.
